Recap: Sea Dogs lose 4-2

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs suffered a third straight loss on Sunday, falling 4-2 to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Justin Robinson made 36 saves as the Titan outshot the Sea Dogs 40-27. Noah Reinhart and Coen Miller scored for Saint John.

Joseph Henneberry scored a pair of goals for Bathurst while Milo Roelens and Bobby Orr added singles. Colby Huggan had two assists. Antoine Keller made 25 saves in the win.

The Sea Dogs are now 0-3 since returning from the Christmas break — which coincides with the trading of captain Peter Reynolds.

Saint John heads into 2024 with a 13-18-3-2 record for 31 points, placing them ninth in the Eastern Conference and 15th overall in the QMJHL.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without forwards Eriks Mateiko (world juniors), Egan Beveridge (healthy) and Danny Akkouche (healthy) along with defenseman Matteo Mann (injury).

NOTES: The Sea Dogs are now 6-10-2-1 at home... Saint John went 0/5 on the power play... this was Saint John's first home game since Dec. 9... Coen Miller scored his first goal as a Sea Dog. It was his first QMJHL goal since Dec. 2... Noah Reinhart had five shots... faceoffs were 38-22 in favour of Bathurst... attendance was 4,398, the second biggest home crowd of the season.
