Odd schedule begins for Sea Dogs

Michael Hawkins/Saint John Sea Dogs
The Saint John Sea Dogs have a bit of an odd schedule over the next month and a bit.

This past Sunday's contest against the Moncton Wildcats kicked off a five-game homestand for the Sea Dogs. They won't hit the road again until Jan. 20.

Here's a look at their upcoming matches, which notably includes three mid-week games.

Thursday, Jan. 11 vs Rimouski
Saturday, Jan. 13 vs Victoriaville
Wednesday, Jan. 17 vs Charlottetown
Thursday, Jan. 18 vs Shawinigan
Saturday, Jan. 20 at Cape Breton

The Jan. 20 game in Cape Breton will kick off a stretch of eight straight road games for the Sea Dogs. Following that Cape Breton game, the Sea Dogs will play a three-in-three in Quebec the following weekend with stops in Shawinigan, Victoriaville and Gatineau.

Saint John won't play at home again until Feb. 15.

As noted several times throughout the year, the Sea Dogs have been a better road team. Saint John is 8-8-1-1 on the road but only 6-11-2-2 at home. They have the fewest home wins in the QMJHL.
