RECAP: Sea Dogs lose 4-1

FINAL: Charlottetown 4, Saint John 1
SAINT JOHN - Coming off back-to-back wins, the Saint John Sea Dogs were brought back down to earth by the Charlottetown Islanders on New Year's Eve.

Nikita Alexandrov scored two goals to lead the Islanders to a 4-1 victory over the Dogs at Harbour Station. Thomas Casey and William Sirman also scored for Charlottetown while Matthew Welsh made 26 saves in the win.

Filip Prikryl scored Saint John's lone goal, connecting with a slick move on a penalty shot. Alex D'Orio was back in the lineup and made 32 stops in the loss.
The Sea Dogs entered the game having won three of their past four games - which included a win over the Islanders.

LINEUP
SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without goaltender Tommy DaSilva (healthy); forwards Josh Lawrence (sick), Yohan Plamondon (injured), Anthony Boucher (awaiting trade) and Aiden MacIntosh.

NOTES: Affiliate Dawson Stairs remained in the Sea Dogs lineup... Filip Prikryl's goal was his third of the year... Nikita Alexandrov now has goals in four straight games... Alexandrov has six goals and four assists in six games against Saint John this year... Daniel Hardie and Kevin Gursoy were both held off the scoresheet... Hardie had a five-game goal scoring streak come to an end.
