MacDonald, a third-round pick of the Sea Dogs in last year's QMJHL Entry Draft, had been committed to join Boston College for the 2021-22 season. He spent last season in the USHL, recording six goals and 14 assists in 44 games with Sioux Falls.
Told Cameron MacDonald, a top prospect for the 2021 NHL draft, is leaving USHL Sioux Falls for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL.— John Matisz (@MatiszJohn) June 4, 2020
The 17-year-old forward was slated to join Boston College in fall 2022.
Mikael Lalancette of TVA Sports reports the same as the above.
MacDonald joins Peter Reynolds as Boston College commits to sign with the Sea Dogs over the past few weeks.
The Hammonds Plains, NS native joins Reynolds, Joshua Roy and Charles Savoie as 2003-born forwards on the Sea Dogs. That's a decent group.
MacDonald is considered a high-end prospect for the 2021 NHL Draft.
More to come...
