SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs' winning streak has hit 10 games.

The Sea Dogs earned a solid 3-2 win over the Western Conference leading Sherbrooke Phoenix on Tuesday night at TD Station. The win pushed the Sea Dogs past the Phoenix for third overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League standings.

Connor Trenholm scored a pair of goals and added an assist on the other marker. Ryan Francis scored a single and setup both of Trenholm's goals. Thomas Couture made 26 saves in the victory.

Despite the close score, the Sea Dogs dominated stretches of this game, especially in the second period. Saint John got into penalty trouble early in the first period and that allowed Sherbrooke to grab a 2-0 lead. But, as we've seen during this win streak, the Sea Dogs didn't panic and steadily mounted a comeback.

Saint John swept the season series with Sherbrooke this season, winning both contests.

Xavier Parent and Stephane Jr Huard scored for the Phoenix. Jakob Robillard made 24 stops in the loss.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without goaltender Noah Patenaude (injury); defensemen Yan Kuznetsov (injury) and Nathan Drapeau (injury); and forwards Marshall Lessard (injury) and Riley Bezeau (injury or sickness). Lessard, who hasn't played since April 6, was the team's final scratch.

THE RETURN: Former Sea Dogs forward Joshua Roy made his first appearance at TD Station since being traded to the Phoenix. Roy, who hasn't had the most pleasant things to say about the Sea Dogs since his trade, heard some boos at times. The Montreal Canadiens prospect finished the game with one assist and one shot on goal.

TRENHOLM: Connor Trenholm picked a good time to end his goalless drought. Trenholm, who hadn't scored since March 25, netted two goals and added an assist in the victory. His three-point night was a career high, breaking his previous best of two.
QUITE A MONTH: What an April it's been for Ryan Francis. With a goal and two assists in this game, Francis now has seven goals and six assists in nine games this month. He has scored at least once in six of nine games in April.

STREAKS: This is the second time this season that the Sea Dogs have won 10 straight games. No team has won more than 10 consecutive games this year. Saint John also extended their home winning streak to four games. Josh Lawrence (23 games) and William Dufour (21 games) both had their home point streaks come to an end.

NOTES: Before the game, there was a video tribute and moment of silence for former QMJHLer Mike Bossy... this kicked off an extremely challenging three-game road trip for Sherbrooke. They visit Bathurst Thursday and Charlottetown Friday... Jeremie Poirier had five shots... Nicholas Blagden had four hits... attendance was 2,432... the Sea Dogs now have just two home games remaining in the regular season.
