Honouring The Troops

As tweeted by Saint John Sea Dogs equipment manager David Kelly, here is what a section of the upper bowl looked like for today’s game against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

From the Sea Dogs’ website:

The annual Support Our Troops game was preceded by an emotional Remembrance Day ceremony. In honour of the 158 Canadian Forces personnel who have been killed in the war in Afghanistan since 2002, 158 seats were set aside and marked with white crosses bearing each of the 158 names. The ceremony also included a performance by Terry Kelly of his well-known song Pittance of Time, and a military band performed O Canada.

What a great tribute. The Halifax Mooseheads did something similar last week at the Metro Centre.
