Top Dogs Again

Despite a difficult week on the ice, the Saint John Sea Dogs are still ranked No. 1 in the Canadian Hockey League entering the final few days of regular season action. The latest edition of the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings were released yesterday afternoon.

The Sea Dogs entered the week on a 17-game winning streak but saw that end on Friday night in Chicoutimi when they fell 4-3 in a shootout. Then on Sunday, Saint John was roughed up by the Shawinigan Cataractes, losing 6-2.

After starting the new week off with a 6-1 win in Halifax last night, Saint John still sits atop the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with a record of 48-15-0-3.

Other QMJHL teams in this week’s Top 10 include the Shawinigan Cataractes at No. 5, Quebec Remparts at No. 10, and the Victoriaville Tigres were once again an honourable mention.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
