Two Dogs Headed To Top Prospects Game

Two Saint John Sea Dogs defenceman will be participating in the 2015 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game next month.

Rookie Jakub Zboril will play for Team Cherry while sophomore Thomas Chabot will join Team Orr. The annual game showcasing the CHL’s top 40 draft eligible players will take place on Jan. 22 in St. Catharines, Ont. The game will be broadcast nationally on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.

15 QMJHL players were named to the event’s rosters today. 13 came from the OHL while 12 came from the WHL.

Other QMJHLers on the team include Callum Booth, Samuel Montembeault, Anthony Beauvillier, Filip Chlapik, Daniel Sprong, Evgeny Svechnikov, Yakov Trenin, Dennis Yan, Guillaume Brisebois, Nicolas Meloche, Jeremy Roy, Timo Meier and Nicolas Roy.

Chabot and Zboril are certainly worthy of the recognition. Chabot is 13th in QMJHL defensemen scoring with seven goals and 15 assists in 31 games while Zboril is 14th with seven goals and 14 helpers in 30 contests.
