CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI - The Saint John Sea Dogs hit the road for the first time this season today.
After a pretty solid start to this young season (picking up three of a possible four points in two games this past weekend), the Sea Dogs will face a tough test tonight. The Islanders are projected to be quite good again this year; they have an experienced lineup; and are off to a 1-1 start.
Game time tonight at Eastlink Centre is 7 p.m.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 1-0-1-0 this season for three points (second Maritimes, seventh overall) while the Islanders are 1-1-0-0 for two points (fifth Maritimes, 11th QMJHL).
Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 5-4 win over the Moncton Wildcats on Sunday afternoon at Harbour Station. Josh Lawrence had a hat trick for Saint John while singles came from Jeremie Jacob and Maxim Cajkovic. Alex D'Orio made 34 saves in the win. The Islanders are coming off a 3-2 home loss to the Halifax Mooseheads on Saturday. Lukas Cormier and Thomas Casey scored for Charlottetown. Dakota Lund-Cornish made 19 stops in the loss.
2018-19 head-to-head: This is the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
2017-18 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs were 3-5-1-0 against the Islanders last season while Charlottetown went 6-2-1-0 against Saint John.
Last meeting: Sept. 8 at Harbour Station where the Islanders hammered the Sea Dogs 7-0 in pre-season play. Drew Johnston scored twice while singles came from Cole Edwards, Liam Peyton, Daniel Hardie, Brett Budgell and Lukas Cormier. Dakota Lund-Cornish made 27 saves in the shutout win. Tommy DaSilva allowed seven goals on 32 shots in the loss.

Derek Gentile and Sullivan Sparkes each have a Charlottetown high two assists... Saint John is 0/5 on the power play this season... the Islanders are starting the season with four straight home games. This is the third of those games... according to The Guardian, Hunter Drew is expected to play tonight for the Islanders following his return from NHL camp. Pierre-Olivier Joseph will not. Matthew Welsh will start in net... Sea Dogs goaltender Alex D'Orio no doubt wants to improve his game. He has allowed nine goals in two contests.
