Egan Beveridge scored with one minute remaining in overtime on Friday at TD Station, giving the Sea Dogs a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the Cape Breton Eagles. Saint John improved to 7-0 in games that go beyond regulation time.

It was a far from easy victory for the Sea Dogs. Still without Eriks Mateiko, Tyler Peddle and three regular defensemen, the Sea Dogs grabbed a 2-0 lead early in the second period following an uneventful opening from.

But the tables quickly turned. The Eagles scored three times in the second to take a 3-2 lead heading into the third.

Cape Breton took a 4-2 lead at 6:30 of the third when Cole Burbidge scored on a power play. The Sea Dogs, who have been struggling in third periods, didn't mail it in. Florian Schenk scored at 10:55 to make it 4-3 and then, on a power play, Olivier Groulx picked the corner with a perfect wrist shot at 17:17 to make it 4-4.

With one minute remaining in the extra frame, Beveridge scored a goal similar to Groulx's, giving Saint John a 5-4 win.

Groulx scored twice for Saint John while Beverdige, Schenk and Zachary Morin netted singles. Charles-Edward Gravel made 33 saves in the victory.
