Harbour Station – Saint John, NB
SAINT JOHN – Two of the top picks in the 2013 Quebec
Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft battle this afternoon at Harbour
Station.
For the first time this year, Nathan Noel and the Saint
John Sea Dogs host Nicholas Roy and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. Noel was
selected third overall by Saint John while Roy was picked first overall by the
Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and later traded to Chicoutimi.
Both rookie forwards are off to respectable starts. Noel
has five goals and two assists in 13 games while Roy has two goals and five
assists in 15 matches.
Noel, like most Sea Dogs players, has struggled to put up
points during Saint John’s current four-game losing skid. The streak has
dropped Saint John to 5-7-0-1 on the season and into the basement of the Telus
Maritimes Division and 16th overall.
The Sags enter play today with a 7-8-0-0 record and sit
fifth in the tough Telus East Division and 12th overall. This will
be Chicoutimi’s third game in as many days after playing in Bathurst on Friday
and in Charlottetown last night.
