The Saint John Sea Dogs begin their second round series against the Val-d'Or Foreurs tonight at 7 p.m. at Harbour Station.

Series status: This is the first game of the best-of-seven second round playoff series.
Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-3 win in Rimouski on March 29. Saint John goals came from Thomas Chabot, Kyle Ward, Matthew Highmore and Simon Bourque. Callum Booth made 13 saves in the win. The Foreurs are coming off a 5-1 home win over the Shawinigan Cataractes on April 2. Charley Graaskamp scored two goals while singles came from Maxim Mizyurin, Mathieu Nadeau and Alexis Pepin. Etienne Montpetit made 38 saves in the victory.
2016-17 regular season head-to-head: The Sea Dogs were 2-0-0-0 against the Foreurs during the regular season while Val-d'Or went 0-2-0-0 against Saint John.

Three Things to Know
1. The Foreurs pulled off a major upset in the opening round, eliminating the third-seeded Shawinigan Cataractes in six games. This comes a season after they were the victims of a huge first round upset.
2. Val-d'Or's Mathieu Nadeau (four goals and six assists) and Saint John's Thomas Chabot (three goals and seven assists) are tied for second in league playoff scoring with 10 points each.
3. The Foreurs were just 9-23-1-1 on the road during the regular season but went 2-1 in Shawinigan during the first round.
