Pre-Season Game Day 2: at Moncton

MONCTON
- The Saint John Sea Dogs and Moncton Wildcats meet again tonight.

The two teams clashed in Fredericton last night with the Sea Dogs edging the Wildcats 6-3 in a close game. Both squads should have a few different faces in their lineups tonight as the first week of training camp begins to wind down.

Game time this evening at Moncton's Superior Propane Centre is 7 p.m.

Pre-Season Records: The Sea Dogs are 1-0-0-0 while the Wildcats are 0-1-0-0.

2020-21 records: The Sea Dogs finished the regular season with a 15-14-3-1 record for a .515 points percentage (third Maritimes) while the Wildcats finished with a record of 11-17-2-1 for a .403 points percentage (fifth Maritimes).

Last games: The Sea Dogs defeated the Wildcats 6-3 in pre-season play last night at the Aitken Centre. Carter McCluskey had a hat trick for Saint John while singles came from Vincent Despont, Peter Reynolds and Vince Elie. Joachim Matulu, Preston Lounsbury and Thomas Auger scored for Moncton. Olivier Brideau allowed two goals on 18 shots in the first half of the game for Saint John while Ventsislav Shingarov allowed a goal on 17 shots in the second half. Kiefer Thompson played the first half of the night for Moncton and allowed three goals on 14 shots. Robert Forbes allowed a couple goals on 14 shots in the final half. 

2020-21 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs went 8-5-0-0 against the Wildcats in the regular season while Moncton went 5-7-1-0 against Saint John.

Saint John struggled to stay out of the box last night, giving Moncton seven power plays... the Sea Dogs outhit the Wildcats 14-9... Elliot Simard had two assists in Thursday's game... the Sea Dogs have not played at the Superior Propane Centre since Aug. 22, 2018, an 8-1 win that saw Josh Lawrence have two goals and an assist.
