All Thomas Couture and his Sea Dogs did in the final month of the season was win. While the 2022 Memorial Cup hosts entered the postseason on a 15-game streak, Couture allowed two goals or fewer in seven outings since April 1st, including a 37-save triumph over Quebec on April 10th and a 22-save shutout versus Cape Breton on the 16th. This spectacular conclusion to the season allowed Couture to earn the highest win total in the Q this campaign (29).

- With Louis Domingue taking over goaltending duties for the Pittsburgh Penguins (and Alex D'Orio backing up!), I was reminded of this classic Sea Dogs game from 2009. Gerard Gallant's Sea Dogs defeat Domingue and the Wildcats 3-2 in overtime - a win that kicked off the team's 22-game winning streak. Mike Hoffman scored the game-winner. There was a lot of talent playing in that game.
- Former Sea Dogs forward Evgeny Sapelnikov had two goals and two assists in the Baie-Comeau Drakkar's 5-4 overtime win over the Sherbrooke Phoenix on Monday. The Belarusian returned to game action on May 1 after missing two months with an injury.
- Former Sea Dogs forward Dawson Theede and the Halifax Thunderbirds were eliminated by the Toronto Rock in the opening round of the National Lacrosse League playoffs. Theede had a goal and an assist in Halifax's 14-13 overtime loss in Hamilton last Friday.
- Jonathan Huberdeau is now the Florida Panthers' franchise leader in playoff scoring.
