Recap: Sea Dogs lose 4-1

BOISBRIAND, Que. - The Saint John Sea Dogs dropped the first game of their three-game Quebec road trip on Thursday, falling 4-1 to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

Peter Reynolds scored Saint John's lone goal, which came in the third period with the Sea Dogs down 2-0. Reynolds now has an impressive five goals in seven games this season.

Patrick Leaver got the start in net and made 32 saves in the loss.

Xavier Sarrasin, Jonathan Fauchon, Matt Gosselin and Alexis Bourque scored for the Armada. 

Netminder Charles-Edward Gravel made 35 saves in the win and was named first star.

Shots were even 36-36. Saint John's power play had just one opportunity in this game and once again could not convert.

This road trip doesn't get any easier for Saint John with stops in Val-d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda coming up.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without defensemen Matthew MacLean (healthy) and Matteo Mann (injury) along with forwards Reid Calder (healthy) and Sam-Luca Thifault (injury).

NOTES: Peter Reynolds and Eriks Mateiko each had four shots... this was Saint John's first road loss of the season... Jacob Beaulieu had six hits... attendance was 1,174.

NEXT GAME: The Sea Dogs continue this road trip on Saturday in Val-d'Or, facing the Foreurs at 5 p.m.
