MONCTON - For a third time this season, the Saint John Sea Dogs came up short against the Moncton Wildcats.
The Sea Dogs led 2-1 midway through the first period but could not hang on, falling 5-2 to the Wildcats on Friday at Avenir Centre. Moncton scored twice in the second period an added an empty net goal in the win.
Preston Lounsbury recorded a goal and three helpers for Moncton while Yoan Loshing, the QMJHL's leading scorer, had a pair of goals. Miles Mueller and Vincent Collard also scored for Moncton while Keegan Warren made 27 saves in the win.
Danny Akkouche and Peter Reynolds scored for Saint John. Patrick Leaver made 33 saves in the loss.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without forwards Chad Bellemare (healthy), Luka Benoit (healthy), Kency Pierre-Noel (healthy) and Sam-Luca Thifault (injury) along with defenseman Nate Tivey (injury).
NOTES: Forward Francis Woods made his Sea Dogs debut after being picked up by the club recently. He recorded an assist on Peter Reynolds' first period goal... Reynolds now has two goals and five assists over his past three games... Danny Akkouche now has three goals over his past four games... Noah Reinhart and Mathis Gauthier each had four shots... Moncton outshot Saint John 20-5 in the second period... Saint John went 0/4 on the power play... attendance was 3,741.
