SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs lost a seventh straight game on Saturday night at TD Station, falling 5-4 in overtime to the Gatineau Olympiques.

The Sea Dogs entered the third period up 4-3 but could not maintain their lead. Jeremie Minville netted the overtime winner to complete a hat trick.

Penalties were the big story in this one with Gatineau going 3/7 on the power play and Saint John 1/5. Gatineau scored two man advantage goals in the opening frame after Tyler Peddle was given a five-minute major and game misconduct for a check from behind on Emile Dubois.

Alexander Gaudio and Charles Boutin had Gatineau's other goals. Kian Hodgins made 30 stops in the win.

Defenseman Joseph Ianniello had quite a night, recording a pair of goals and two assists for Saint John. Nicolas Bilodeau and Pavel Simek also scored. Patrick Leaver made 21 stops in the loss.

Saint John kept the shots against down to a reasonable amount for the first time in several games. They are now one point back of the Quebec Remparts for the league's final playoff spot.

SCRATCHES: The Sea Dogs were without goaltender Justin Robinson (injury); forwards Reid Calder (healthy) and Benjamin Beaudry (healthy); and defensman Benjamin Amyot (injury) and Jeremie Richard (healthy).

NOTES: Luka Benoit played his first game since Feb. 4... Joseph Ianniello set a new career high for points (four) and goals (two) in a game...
