SEA DOGS REMAIN TOP DOGS

For the fourth consecutive week, the Saint John Sea Dogs are the top ranked team in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings. The latest edition of the Canadian Hockey League’s top 10 teams was released today after a break for the holidays.

The Sea Dogs didn’t play their best of hockey of the season over the past week but they did manage to pick up three of a possible four wins.

Saint John lost a close game on Thursday in Bathurst, falling 5-4. The next day, Jacob DeSerres shutout the Moncton Wildcats by score of 4-0 at Harbour Station. Then on Sunday, Stephen MacAulay scored in overtime at the Moncton Coliseum to give the Dogs a 3-2 win.

Yesterday, in a game that was, at times, less entertaining than watching paint dry, the Sea Dogs came from behind to pull off a 4-3 shootout victory over the Titan.

Other Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams to make the list were the Quebec Remparts at No. 3 and the Montreal Juniors at No. 5. The Drummondville Voltigeurs were an honourable mention.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
