Game Day 42: at Halifax

HALIFAX - For a third straight week, the Saint John Sea Dogs travel into Nova Scotia to face the Halifax Mooseheads.

The most recent meeting - last Thursday at Scotiabank Centre - didn't go well for the Sea Dogs. The team allowed three goals in the first eight minutes of the game and never recovered, falling 6-2.

The Sea Dogs are coming off an 8-1 win in Moncton on Sunday, a win they'll look to build off tonight.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 22-15-1-3 for 48 points (fourth Maritimes/fifth Eastern/eighth QMJHL) while the Mooseheads are 24-15-1-1 for 50 points (third Maritimes/fourth Eastern/seventh QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off an 8-1 win in Moncton on Sunday. William Dufour scored four goals while singles came from Cam MacDonald, Vincent Sevigny, Jeremie Poirier and Raivis Ansons. Thomas Couture made 19 stops in the win. The Mooseheads are coming off a 6-1 win over the Cape Breton Eagles last night. Elliot Desnoyers and Bobby Orr each scored twice while Jordan Dumais and Zack Jones added singles. Mathis Rousseau made 25 stops in the win.

2021-22 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 3-1-0-0 against the Mooseheads this season while Halifax is 1-2-1-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Last Thursday in Halifax where the Mooseheads defeated the Sea Dogs 6-2. Zachary Beauregard and Zachary L'Heureux each scored twice for Halifax while singles came from Liam Welsh and Evan Boucher. Jacob Chantler and Vincent Sevigny scored for Saint John. Mathis Rousseau made 26 saves in the win. Thomas Couture was pulled after allowing three goals on six shots. Nikolas Hurtubise allowed three goals on 19 shots in relief.
