SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs moved up to fifth in
the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings this week. The latest edition of the
rankings were released this afternoon.
The Sea Dogs played two games this past week, winning both and
outscoring their opponents 12-5. Saint John beat the Halifax Mooseheads 7-3 on
Saturday night at Harbour Station and then
travelled to Bathurst to beat the Titan 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Saint John now has a record of 34-13-0-2 for 70 points.
They are tied with the Shawinigan Cataractes for first-place in the Quebec
Major Junior Hockey League. The Cats have played one fewer game.
Two other QMJHL teams made this week’s rankings. The
Cataractes came in at No. 4 while the Quebec Remparts were placed ninth. The
Victoriaville Tigres, who have won six straight, were an honourable mention.
The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top
10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

In Buzzing The Net’s Dynamic Dozen this week, the Sea
Dogs were ranked third.
Saint John plays two games this week, hosting the Moncton
Wildcats on Thursday and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada on Sunday.
