Three Sea Dogs cracked NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings for the 2016 draft, which were released this morning.
Defenseman Luke Green was the highest
ranked Saint John skater, coming in at No. 37 on the list of North American
skaters. Forward Nathan Noel, who went undrafted last year, was ranked 136th
while defenseman Oliver Felixson was placed at 142nd.
Meanwhile, defenseman Marshall Rifai, an
eighth-round pick of the Sea Dogs in the 2014 QMJHL Entry Draft, was ranked 99th.
Rifai, a Beaconsfield, Quebec native, is playing high school hockey in Connecticut
this season and his committed to Harvard University.
Another Sea Dogs prospect, Northeastern
committed forward Jamie Armstrong, was ranked 133rd.
London’s Matthew Tkachuk topped the North American list. Val-d’Or’s Julien Gauthier was the highest ranked QMJHL player coming in at No. 4.
