Former Sea Dogs forward Mitchell Dempsey
has committed to the University of Prince Edward Islanders Panthers for the
2016-17 season.

Last season, Dempsey played in 27 games
with the MHL's Summerside Western Capitals as an overager, recording 12 goals and 16
assists. He added two goals and four assists in 13 playoff games.
Dempsey, a seventh-round pick of the
Boston Bruins in the 2013 NHL Draft, spent the 2014-15 season with the Sea Dogs
after not being claimed in the OHL. In 60 games with Saint John, the left winger
registered eight goals and 17 assists in 60 games.

The Panthers play their first game of
the 2016-17 Atlantic University Sport season on Oct. 5 in Moncton.
