Recap: Sea Dogs win 5-2

FINAL: Saint John 5, Drummondville 2
DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - The Saint John Sea Dogs picked up one of their biggest wins of the season on Friday night.

Brady Burns scored a hat trick to lead the Sea Dogs to a 5-2 win over the No. 5 seeded Drummondville Voltigeurs at the Marcel Dionne Centre. Nicholas Deakin-Poot and former Voltigeur Nicolas Guay also scored for Saint John.

Noah Patenaude was the big story again, making 40 stops to earn his third straight victory. He was a bit shaky in Gatineau on Wednesday, but the rookie netminder appeared to be in the same form he was in last Sunday at TD Station. Zachary Bouthillier is nursing a lower body injury.

Saint John has now won three straight games overall and four straight on the road. They are also 2-0 in the Jeff Cowan era. We'll see how they handle the league's best, the Sherbrooke Phoenix, on Saturday.

Drummondville had goals from Jacob Dion and Isiah Campbell. Anthony Morrone made 16 saves in the loss.

The Sea Dogs website has a full game recap.

NEXT GAME: The Sea Dogs take on the Phoenix in Sherbrooke tonight at 7 p.m.
