Game Day 62: at Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN - While the Saint John Sea Dogs have been entertaining to watch of late, wins have remained hard to come by.

The Sea Dogs carry a three-game losing streak into this afternoon's contest with the Charlottetown Islanders. Game time is 2 p.m. at Eastlink Centre.

This will be the third game in three days for Saint John and the second in less than 24 hours. The Sea Dogs allowed three third period goals in a 4-2 home loss to the Halifax Mooseheads yesterday at TD Station.

The Sea Dogs, who have just three regular season games remaining, will try and turn things around today. This will be the final meeting of the regular season between the Dogs and Isles. Saint John is 3-2-2-0 in the season series.

PEI native Jase MacPherson is expected to make his QMJHL debut in net for Saint John with Arseni Radkov suspended and Rafaël Courchesne having appeared in back-to-back games.

Records: The Sea Dogs are 22-34-5-0 for 49 points (eighth Eastern/15th QMJHL) while the Islanders are 32-21-2-6 for 72 points (fourth Eastern/seventh QMJHL).

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-2 home loss to the Halifax Mooseheads yesterday at TD Station. Nolann Héroux and Alexis Joseph had Saint John goals. Rafaël Courchesne made 25 saves in the loss. The Islanders are coming off a 2-1 overtime win over the Cape Breton Eagles on Friday. Nathan Leek and Ross Campbell had Charlottetown goals. Donald Hickey made 39 saves in the win.

2025-26 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 3-2-2-0 against the Islanders this season while Charlottetown is 4-3-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Feb. 28 in Saint John where the Islanders defeated the Sea Dogs 5-4. Anthony Flanagan, Ryan Staples, Matthew Butler, Nathan Leek and Tyler Peddle scored for Charlottetown. Saint John had a pair of goals from Angelo Fullerton and singles from Everett Baldwin and Jabez Seymour. Donald Hickey made 17 saves in the win. Rafaël Courchesne made 42 saves in the loss.

Islander to watch: Nathan Leek has six goals and four assists in seven games against Saint John this season.

  1. Kind of a questionable suspension of 5 games considering that it was only a fight. NHL suspended Godas for 5 games for the knee to Matthews . I know I’m comparing NHL to the Q but considering his past history Radkov got way too much. He got a game for the fight and another for removing his mask …. That’s would have been Saturday game then call it a day and move on!!! Way too many games !!!!
