Quinn Kennedy scored 2:07 into the third period while Shawn Carrier and Liam Kilfoil followed up with goals to lift the Mooseheads to a 4-2 victory. Caylen Blake scored Halifax's other goal.
Alexis Joseph scored in the final minute of the third but that was as close as Saint John could get. Nolann Héroux netted Saint John's other goal.
It was another fairly even game played between the two. This was the final meeting of the season series, which saw the Moosehead win five of the eight contests.
There were no goalie fights in this game – or any real carryover from that incident. Nicolas Gillham-Cirka made 34 saves in the win while Rafaël Courchesne made 25 stops in the loss.
The Sea Dogs have now lost three straight games.
