The Halifax Mooseheads have given Sain John a seventh round draft choice for 2010 in exchange for the rights to forward Matthew Stoddard. Stoddard has been on a conditional tryout with the Mooseheads.
Stoddard fell short of the expectations laid upon him as a second round pick in Saint John. Stoddard has been doing very well at Mooseheads camp and will be looked upon in a leadership role on the young Mooseheads team.
The Porter's Lake native will also be given much more ice time than in Saint John. He was cut from the Sea Dogs lineup last Christmas.
Stoddard has 7 goals and 22 points in 128 games with Saint John.
Fournier Cut
Vincent Fournier has been cut from the Sea Dogs training camp roster. Fournier played two games for Saint John last season and registered no points.
