DOGS JUMP TO 6th IN RANKINGS

They were just an honourable mention last week, but the Saint John Sea Dogs made some noise in the BMO CHL Top 10 Rankings this week.

The Sea Dogs moved up all the way to sixth place in the rankings, leapfrogging the Moncton Wildcats, Owen Sound Attack, Kootenay Ice, and the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

It was an impressive for the Port City juniors who spent their entire week in northwestern Quebec. Saint John won two games in Val-d’Or against the Foreurs before moving to Rouyn-Noranda and defeating the Huskies in back-to-back games. Two of the Sea Dogs’ matches were blowouts while the other couple were one goal games.

Saint John outscored their opponents 22-9 en route to joining the Quebec Remparts at the top of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League standings.

The Sea Dogs join the Remparts, Wildcats, and Voltigeurs as teams from the QMJHL who are nationally ranked this week. The Acadie-Bathurst Titan were an honourable mention.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
