Notes: The Quebec Remparts enter today’s game with a record of 17-3-0-2 which is good for first in the Telus East Division and a tie with the Saint John Sea Dogs for second overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. They sit one point behind the Drummondville Voltigeurs who have played four more games… ranked third in the Canadian Hockey League this week in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings… the Remparts are coming off a 4-3 overtime victory in Charlottetown last night against the PEI Rocket. Ryan Bourque scored two goals including the game winner. Singles came courtesy of Frederick Roy and import sensation Mirko Hoefflin. Jimmy Appleby allowed three goals on 19 shots through two periods before giving way to Louis Domingue to start the third. “We were challenged tonight,” said Quebec head coach Patrick Roy to PEIRocket.com after the game… the Remparts are 8-2-0-2 away from home this season and have outscored their opposition 47-35 along the way. Their eight road wins ties them with the Voltigeurs and the Moncton Wildcats for the league high… 6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games. They have won two straight… as they have been known for over the past few years, Quebec likes to score goals. They are second only to the Sea Dogs in goals scored with 97... the Remparts have the best power play in the league with a rating of 0.351%... their power play may be the best in the league but their penalty kill isn’t by any means. They are currently ranked 10th in the league with an efficiency of 0.787%... Jonathan Audy-Marchessault leads Quebec in scoring with 40 points in just 22 games which places him second in league scoring. His 28 assists also leads the team and places him second in the QMJHL among assist leaders… Joel Champagne and Tomas Filippi lead the team in goals with 13 each… Alex Wall leads the club in plus/minus with a +23 rating… Domingue will likely get the start in goal toady for the Remparts. He has a record of 13-2-0-1, a goals against average of 2.18 and a save percentage of 0.901%... this is the final game of a three game road trip through the Maritimes for Quebec. They wrecked the Titan on Friday night in Bathurst, winning 5-2 and outshot them 49-15. They defeated PEI in overtime last night and will now face their toughest test this afternoon in Saint John.

Notes: The Saint John Sea Dogs come into this afternoon’s contest with a record of 17-3-0-1 which places them first in the Maritime Division and in a tie for second overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Quebec Remparts. They sit one point behind the Drummondville Voltigeurs who have played four more games… ranked fourth in the Canadian Hockey League this week in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings… Saint John is coming off a 5-3 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan last night at Harbour Station. Simon Despres, Steven Anthony, Michael Kirkpatrick, Scott Oke, and Tomas Jurco all scored for the winners who outshot Bathurst 39-33. Frederic Piche played all 60 minutes and allowed three goals on 33 shots. Mike Thomas also had his first fight of the season. Defenseman Gabriel Bourret was the first star with two assists… 8-1-0-1 in their last 10 games and are coming off a win. The Sea Dogs have picked up at least a point in their last eight games… 10-0-0-1 at home this season and are the only QMJHL team remaining that does not have a regulation loss on home ice… Michael Kirkpatrick has taken over the team point scoring lead with 29 points in 22 games. His 21 assists lead the team as well… Jonathan Huberdeau leads the team in goals with 14 in 22 matches. He also has a team best +25 rating… this is the final game of a four game homestand for Saint John. So far, they are 2-0-0-1. They hit the road for two games next weekend… it isn’t clear who will start in goal tonight but it was suggested on last night's News 88.9 broadcast that Jacob DeSerres may be ready to go. The 20-year has been suffering from a groin injury of late, forcing Frederic Piche to make a rare second straight start last night. DeSerres has a record of 4-1-0-0, a goals against average of 2.77, and a save percentage of 0.898%... Piche has a record of 9-1-0-2, a GAA of 2.33, and a SV% of 0.917%.

Saint John won both of their meetings with Quebec in 2009-10, with Stanislav Galiev (2GP-1G-2A-3P), Steven Anthony (2GP-1G-1A-2P), and Michael Kirkpatrick (2GP-0G-2A-2P) all having averaged a point-per-game or better in head-to-head matchups with the Remparts last season. Kirkpatrick has recorded 7GP-2G-5A-7P versus Quebec thus far in his career.THE CULTURE

- Ryan Bourque is the son of Boston Bruin great Ray Bourque – who was in town just over a week ago on a Bruins Alumni tour.
- The Remparts are off to a surprising start. Most pre-season analysts did not see Quebec being this good this year. Will it last?
- Mikael Tam, the victim of the Patrice Cormier attack last season, still plays for Quebec.
