12 WEEKS AT THE TOP

For the 12th consecutive week, the Saint John Sea Dogs are ranked as the No. 1 team in the Canadian Hockey League. The latest edition of the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings were released this afternoon.

The Sea Dogs lost in regulation for the first time in 2011 on Saturday in Victoriaville. Despite their 15-game winning streak and 22-game unbeaten in regulation streak coming to an end, Saint John still managed to earn four-of-a-possible-six points on the weekend.

The Dogs opened it up on Friday in Gatineau, upending the Olympiques 4-3. Then on Saturday afternoon, Saint John came out a bit flat and fell 2-1 to the Tigres. But the road trek through the province of Quebec ended on a solid note with the club defeating the Shawinigan Cataractes 6-3 at Centre Bionest.

Overall, the most offensively gifted team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League outscored their opposition 12-7.

Other QMJHL teams to make the list this week were the Montreal Juniors at No. 4, Quebec Remparts at No. 7, and Drummondville Voltigeurs at No. 9.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

Here are the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings for week 23:
