DOGS STILL TOPS IN CHL

The Saint John Sea Dogs have continued their reign on top of the Canadian Hockey League Top 10 once again this week. The CHL released the latest edition of the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings this afternoon.

The Sea Dogs, who sit atop the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with a record of 53-6-1-2, have now been ranked No. 1 in Canada for 13 straight weeks.

Saint John won both of their games this past week. They started it off Friday at Harbour Station by defeating the Moncton Wildcats 5-4 in overtime. Then on Saturday at home, the Dogs put the throttle down and destroyed the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 8-0.

Other QMJHL teams in the Top 10 this week were the Montreal Juniors at No. 4, Quebec Remparts at No. 6, and the Drummondville Voltigeurs at No. 9.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

In the Buzzing The Net Dynamic Dozen, the Sea Dogs were ranked No. 1 again this week.

Saint John will has a challenging week ahead. They travel to Rimouski to take on the Oceanic tomorrow night and then head back to New Brunswick to face the Acadie-Bathurst Titan Friday at KC Irving Regional Centre. The Sea Dogs close out this week’s schedule Sunday afternoon in Cape Breton.

The Dogs play their final road game of the season Wednesday in Prince Edward Island and then come home to close out the season.
