CBJ CAMP COMES TO AN END

The 2011 edition of Columbus Blue Jackets Development Camp came to a close yesterday with a scrimmage at the Ice Haus, the team’s practice facility at Nationwide Arena.
Two Saint John Sea Dogs participated in the camp. Goaltender Mathieu Corbeil, a 2010 Columbus draft pick, and forward Mike Thomas, a free agent invite who recently signed with the clubs American Hockey League affiliate.

The camp began on Tuesday and wrapped up yesterday afternoon.

According to the Jackets website, goaltenders Mathieu Corbeil, Martin Ouellette and Allen York rotated between the teams throughout the scrimmage. The teams played two 25-minute halves that featured 5-on-5 and 4-on-4 play, as well as alternated 5-on-3 and 5-on-4 power play opportunities of one-minute each for a period late in the second half.

Thomas was on the losing side as Team White beat Team Blue 8-4. The former Sea Dogs captain made it a 2-2 game just 2:47 into the second half when he "completed a two-on-one break with a snap shot that beat York.”
