Florida Panthers Development Camp came to a close today.
“Last day was great,” tweeted Sea Dogs forward Jonathan Huberdeau today. “Had the chance to play with the boys! Team B won!!.. Thanks for the week #FlaPanthersfans we appreciate the crowd!”
Huberdeau and fellow Panthers prospect Rocco Grimaldi have become quite popular on Twitter because of their constant chirping at each other over the past week.
“I have to say that @JonnyHuby11 has very good English,” tweeted Grimaldi today. “Hes a great guy. I love the kid. A great week of chirping is over.”
"I like this guy. He's small, but really quick, creative and has a good shot,'' Huberdeau said to the Florida Sun-Sentinel. "He has a great future.''
Grimaldi was selected by the Panthers in the second round of June’s NHL Draft.
WILD STUFF TOMORROW
After a week of practicing and workouts, the Minnesota Wild prospects at Development Camp will play scrimmage matches on both Saturday and Sunday at the Xcel Energy Centre.
Both scrimmages begin at 11:00 am local time. On Saturday, fans in attendance will get a Devon Setoguchi t-shirt and on Sunday a Danny Heatley t-shirt. Fun stuff.
According to the Wild website, Sea Dogs forward Zack Phillips will be on Team Green.
If you are interested, the Wild website will be streaming both scrimmages.
CAPS CAMP
Day Five of Washington Capitals Development Camp is over. As he has all camp long, Stanislav Galiev shared his thoughts on the day on his Caps website blog.
Last night I went with Kugryshev and Orlov to a Russian place to eat Russian food, so everyone was happy. It was pretty good, everyone loved it. Dmitri Orlov was so happy, so I'm glad he liked it.Here is Washington general manager George McPhee talking Development Camp:
Caps camp comes to a close tomorrow with the big scrimmage which will take place from 10am – 1pm local time.
WINGS CAMP
Sea Dogs forward Tomas Jurco confirmed that Detroit Red Wings Development Camp is indeed over.
“Done with camp, leaving home tomorrow,” tweeted Jurco.
PENS CAMP
Pittsburgh Penguins Development Camp ends tomorrow with a big scrimmage as well. The match begins at 3pm local time at the CONSOL Energy Centre.
According to the Pens website, “Penguins HD Radio will carry live coverage of the event starting at 3 p.m. (4pm AST) and going until the scrimmage ends, with Steve Mears and Bob Grove calling the action."
The stream will be made available on the Penguins website.
