Sea Dogs forward Nathan Noel was among the 44 players invited to attend Canada’s National Men’s Summer
Under-18 Team selection camp.
The camp runs from August
2-5 at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary. The camp will help determine
Canada’s roster for 2014 U-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. This year’s tournament
goes from August 11-16 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
According to a Hockey Canada release, “the camp roster includes 18 players from the Western Hockey
League, 15 from the Ontario Hockey League, 10 from the Quebec Major Junior
Hockey League and one who played U.S. high school hockey last season.”
QMJHL players invited to
attend were goaltenders Callum Booth and Olivier Tremblay; defensemen Guillaume
Brisebois, Olivier Galipeau, Nicolas Meloche, Philippe Myers, and Jeremy Roy;
and forwards Anthony Beauvillier, Noel, and Nicolas Roy.
Noel, the third overall
pick in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft, recorded 16 goals and 23 assists in 63
games with the Sea Dogs last season.
