The Washington Capitals announced this morning that they have called up Stanislav Galiev.
Galiev has had a breakout season with
the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, recording 25 goals and 20 assists
in 64 games. Before this season, the former Sea Dogs forward had three goals and four assists in 33 career AHL games.
This is the first time Galiev has been
called up to the NHL. He was a third-round draft pick of the Capitals in the
2010 draft.
Galiev's recall is indeed on an emergency basis, meaning both Fehr and Wilson aren't healthy yet, and Burakovsky stays.

Washington has two regular season games
remaining, hosting the Boston Bruins on Wednesday and New York Rangers on
Saturday. He will wear No. 49, according to the Capitals.
The 23-year old played three seasons
with the Sea Dogs from 2009-2012, helping the team win three regular season
titles, two President Cups and a Memorial Cup. In 151 career regular season
QMJHL games he had 65 goals and 79 assists. He added 34 goals and 46 assists
in 57 playoff games.
Galiev joins Mike Hoffman, Jonathan Huberdeau, Charlie Coyle, Eric Gelinas, Simon Despres, Tomas Jurco and Nathan Beaulieu as former Sea Dogs currently in the NHL.
