In just his second career National
Hockey League game, Stanislav Galiev netted his first goal.
Galiev’s goal came with 29 seconds left
in the Washington Capitals’ 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers today.
The former Sea Dogs forward, who made
his NHL debut with the Caps earlier this week, finished the game with a goal,
one shot and two hits in 8:50 of ice time.
Here’s Galiev talking about the goal after the game. Capitals Outsider has an article on it.
The Capitals will be appearing in the
Stanley Cup playoffs but it’s unclear if Galiev will remain on the team’s
roster.
The AHL’s Hershey Bears, where Galiev
had been playing until his call up, have three games remaining in their regular
season schedule. They are one of the top teams in the AHL this season and will
be appearing in the Calder Cup playoffs.
