GAMEDAY 9: at Charlottetown

A preview of tonight’s game between the Saint John Sea Dogs and Charlottetown Islanders…

When and where: Tonight at 7 p.m., Eastlink Centre

Records: The Sea Dogs are fourth in the Maritimes Division and 10th overall in the QMJHL with a 5-3-0-0 record for 10 points. The Islanders are third in the Maritimes and ninth overall with a record of 5-3-0-1 for 11 points.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 5-2 victory over the Shawinigan Cataractes on Saturday at Harbour Station. Adam Marsh, Spencer Smallman, Sam Povorozniouk, Matt Green and Bokondji Imama all scored for the Sea Dogs while Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 31 saves in the win. The Islanders are coming off a 1-0 shootout loss in Rimouski on Sunday. Matthew Welsh made 39 saves in the loss and allowed just one shootout goal on six attempts.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 1-0-0-0 against the Islanders this season while Charlottetown ins 0-1-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Sept. 25 at Eastlink Centre where the Sea Dogs defeated the Islanders 3-2. Mathieu Joseph, Luke Green and Daniel Del Paggio all scored for Saint John while Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 29 saves in the win. Oliver Cooper and Shawn Boudrias scored for Charlottetown while Darryl MacCallum made 32 stops in the loss.

I was looking at the Chicago Wolves site this morning and Sebastian Auger didn't make the team, so it back to Trois Riviere for university and Ryan Tesink was sent to the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL, so he's closer to Chicago and St. Louis instead of being in Alaska like last year. So hopefully he'll get a call up this season.
