GAME DAY 32: at Halifax

A preview of tonight’s game between the Saint John Sea Dogs and Halifax Mooseheads…

When and where: Tonight at 7 p.m., Scotiabank Centre

Records: The Sea Dogs are second in the Maritimes Division and eighth overall in the QMJHL with a record of 18-11-2-0 for 38 points. The Mooseheads are fifth in the Maritimes and 16th overall with a record of 11-16-3-1 for 26 points.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 6-2 win in Moncton on Wednesday night. Mathieu Joseph and Luke Green each scored twice while singles came from Matthew Highmore and Bokondji Imama. Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 29 saves in the win. The Mooseheads are coming off a 6-1 home loss to the Val-d’Or Foreurs on Saturday. Cody Donaghey scored the Mooseheads’ lone goal while Kevin Resop made 29 saves in the loss.

2015-16 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs are 2-1-0-0 against the Mooseheads this season while Halifax is 1-1-1-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: Nov. 14 in Halifax where the Sea Dogs defeated the Mooseheads 3-2 in overtime. Thomas Chabot, Kyle Ward and Sam Povorozniouk scored for Saint John while Alex Bishop made 31 saves in the win. Taylor Ford and Andrew Shewfelt scored for Halifax while Eric Brassard made 37 saves in the loss.

Random stat/fact: Matt Murphy, acquired by Saint John yesterday from the Quebec Remparts, helped the Mooseheads win the Memorial Cup in 2013.
