Dogs End Shawinigan Drought

The Saint John Sea Dogs ended a long losing streak last night in Shawinigan.

Before Wednesday’s 3-2 victory over the Cataractes, the Sea Dogs hadn’t won a game in Shawinigan since the round-robin portion of the 2012 Memorial Cup, which took place on May 23, 2012. Jonathan Huberdeau, Stanislav Galiev and Ryan Tesink scored in that game, so it’s been a while. Here are the highlights from one of the best games in Sea Dogs history.

Here’s a look at the meetings between the two over the past five seasons.

A playoff series between Saint John and Shawinigan, which we were all robbed of in 2012, would be a lot of fun this year.

The Sea Dogs took over second place in the QMJHL standings with last night’s victory. Saint John has a two-point lead over Shawinigan with a game in hand.
