Rookie camp begins Wednesday

The Saint John Sea Dogs’ rookie training camp will start on Wednesday at Harbour Station.

According to a team release, “the rookie training camp roster will include players selected by the Sea Dogs in the 2015 and 2016 QMJHL Entry Drafts, trade and free agent acquisitions and invitees.”

The team still has not released its camp roster, although players won’t start reporting until Wednesday afternoon. They’ll hit the ice for an intrasquad game later that afternoon.

There will be three intrasquad games – one Wednesday and two Thursday. Here’s the schedule:
As usual, all games are open to the public and free to attend.

The Sea Dogs play their first pre-season match – a game that’s part of the inaugural Hub City Showcase event – on Friday in Moncton against the Halifax Mooseheads. Game time is 4 p.m. at the Superior Propane Centre.
