Sea Dogs to host 2017 QMJHL Draft

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs will host the 2017 QMJHL Annual Session and Entry Draft.

The announcement was made on Monday afternoon at Harbour Station's Alpine Room by the Sea Dogs, QMJHL and Discover Saint John.

The event will take place May 31 - June 3, 2017 in Saint John. The draft will be held on the final day, Saturday, June 3.

This year's QMJHL Entry Draft took place in Charlottetown while the 2015 and 2014 editions were held in Sherbrooke. The last time the draft was held in New Brunswick was in 2009 at the Moncton Coliseum.

The QMJHL Entry Draft is by far the most extravagant CHL Draft, replicating what the NHL does. All 18 teams will have a table on the floor while players from all over Eastern Canada will be in attendance hoping to hear their names called.
