2017-18 Sea Dogs ticket details released

The Saint John Sea Dogs unveiled single game ticket details this week.

There aren't a lot of changes this year after the huge overhaul the ticket structure went through last summer. Harbour Station has been divided into four pricing zones and the team's home games are designated either best value, regular or premium.

Here's a look at the 34-game home schedule:
Only six matches are designated as "premium games," three of which are against the rival Moncton Wildcats. Eight games are designated as "best value games," all of which will played mid-week. The remaining games are "regular."

Tickets to best value games in Zone D are just $9 for adult, senior and student and $8 for youth.

Full pricing details can be found of the Sea Dogs website.

A popular feature in the sports industry lately has been dividing ticket prices into two categories: advanced pricing and game day pricing. According to the Dogs, "tickets purchased on day of game are subject to a $2 increase per ticket. All ages and zones." Hopefully this will encourage fans to purchase early and decrease some of the box office/lobby chaos on game days.

Once again this year, fans can save $1 by purchasing tickets online.

Single game tickets will go on sale to the general public Sept. 5.

Like last year, I'm sure people are going to look at the single game ticket prices and complain. Well, the Sea Dogs are offering a number of flex pack options again this year which will save fans a significant amount of money compared to purchasing single tickets. If you attend most games, Season Ticket Memberships are also available, which offer a number incentives besides saving money per ticket. Before complaining, take a look at the options available, which may end up saving you a lot of cash.

Saint John had one of the best on-ice products in the league last season, but that won't be the case this year. It'll be interesting to see how the ticket structure changes made last year impact attendance this year.

The Sea Dogs saw a significant increase in attendance last season, gaining nearly 600 fans per game compared to the previous year.
