Ryan Francis made his American Hockey League debut on Friday night in Stockton.

Francis, playing on the team's fourth line, was held pointless in the Heat's 1-0 overtime loss to the Tucson Roadrunners. Former Moncton Wildcat Jakob Pelletier also made his AHL debut in the game.

Francis remains with the Heat on a professional tryout. He still has not been signed to an entry-level deal by the Calgary Flames.
The Sea Dogs remain optimistic that Francis, an overager, will return to the club at some point.

19-year-old defenseman Yan Kuznetsov, Saint John's first-round pick in this year's CHL Import Draft, also played Friday for the Heat.

The Heat and Roadrunners play again on Saturday night in Stockton.

In other action Friday, former Sea Dogs forward Maxim Cajkovic scored his first AHL goal in his first AHL game. Cajkovic also had an assist and was named the game's first star in the Syracuse Crunch's 6-4 win over the Cleveland Monsters.
Joe Veleno, meanwhile, scored his first goal of the season in the Grand Rapids Griffins' 6-1 victory over the Rockford IceHogs.
Former Sea Dogs Cedric Pare and Matt Murphy, who both played in the ECHL last season, cracked the Belleville Senators opening roster. Neither played in the Senators' 6-2 loss to the Laval Rocket on Friday. If you're interested in watching any of these games, AHL TV is free this weekend.
