The Cataractes scored four times in the third period, breaking a 2-2 tie and going on to post a 6-2 win. Shots were 17-4 in favour of Shawinigan in the third.
The loss ended a two-game winning streak for Saint John.
The Sea Dogs hadn't played too bad of a road game until the third period. Mistakes proved costly as Shawinigan scored on some turnovers and odd-man rushes.
Six different players scored for Shawinigan: Julien Lanthier, Vince Elie, Nathan Ouellet, Elias Schneider, Jiri Klima and Mathieu Plante. Mathys Fernandez made 20 saves in the win.
Julien Wasmer and William Yared scored for Saint John. Rafaël Courchesne made 29 saves in the loss.
This was the second meeting in less than a week between the Sea Dogs and Cataractes. The two met last Saturday at TD Station where Saint John posted a 3-2 overtime win.
