After spending much of November on the road, the Saint
John Sea Dogs will be on Harbour Station ice plenty of times this month. Like,
a lot of times.
The Sea Dogs will play 11 games this month with eight of
those being held at Harbour Station. On the road the Dogs play Moncton twice and PEI once, so not much travel will be required.
Unlike last month, Saint John will be playing a lot of
divisional opponents. They’ll play every team in the Telus Maritimes Division
at least once. That includes three games against the rival Moncton Wildcats and
two against the talented Halifax Mooseheads.
Here’s a look at Saint John’s December schedule:
Sunday, December 2 – vs Rimouski
Saturday, December 8 – vs Quebec
Sunday, December 9 – vs Halifax
Tuesday, December 11 – vs Cape Breton
Friday, December 14 – at Moncton
Sunday, December 16 – at PEI
Thursday, December 20 – vs Bathurst
Friday, December 21 – vs Halifax
Saturday, December 29 – vs Bathurst
Sunday, December 30 – at Moncton
Monday, December 31 – vs Moncton
Next weekend really sticks out with the Quebec Remparts
and Mooseheads both in town. The two currently sit No. 1 and No. 3 in the
Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, respectively. Plus they both have some big
time prospects on their rosters. Should be a fun couple of games.
The month ends with a rare three-in-three against
divisional opponents. That includes the annual New Year’s home-and-home matchup
with the Wildcats. The New Year’s Eve game will be played in Saint John this
year.
Things will be busy at Harbour Station this month - just take a look at their calendar. Along
with the eight Sea Dogs home games, the Saint John Mill Rats will be at home
for six games and the UNB Varsity Reds hockey team is taking on a Russian team on December
30.
