- Former Sea Dogs goaltender Travis Fullerton made 21 saves this afternoon at Harbour Station as he helped the UNB Varsity Reds defeat the Russian Red Stars. Former Sea Dogs captain Mike Thomas took part in the ceremonial faceoff. Announced attendance was 2,307. UNBHockeyFans.com has more game coverage. - At the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, Matthew Highmore had a goal as Team Atlantic fell 6-3 to the United States. Highmore’s goal came at 18:11 of the first period on the power play and was assisted by Kyle Tibbo and Kameron Kielly. Team Atlantic is now 0-2 at the tournament.
- Tomorrow, Team Atlantic will take on Slovakia at 2:30pm. Team Quebec will face the United States at 8:30pm.
- Also tomorrow, Team Canada will play their final game of the preliminary round at the World Junior Hockey Championship as they take on the host Russians at 10am Atlantic. Jonathan Huberdeau has a goal and four assists so far at the tournament.
Sunday’s Sea Dogs – Wildcats game was postponed but
tomorrow’s will go on as scheduled. The Dogs host the Wildcats at 7:30pm at Harbour Station in the annual New Year’s Eve match between the two
rivals.
