It’s shaping up to be a wild finish to the Quebec
Major Junior Hockey League season.
Five teams – Bathurst, Charlottetown, Saint John,
Shawinigan, and Sherbrooke – are in a battle for the league’s final three
playoff spots. 13th-place Chicoutimi still hasn’t officially
clinched but, you know, they basically have.
These five teams could realistically finish anywhere from
14th to 18th. Saint John and Shawinigan have both picked
it up in the second half while Charlottetown and Bathurst have fallen back.
Sherbrooke has pretty much been Sherbrooke all year. None of these five teams
have been picking up a lot of wins of late.
It’s also worth noting that the Sea Dogs have two games
remaining against the Titan and one with the Islanders. Saint John plays in
Charlottetown on the final day of the regular season and it would be real neat
if the final playoff spot came down to that game.
The Sea Dogs have nine games remaining this season including tomorrow night's game against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Harbour Station.
