Pre-Season Game Day 4: vs Mooseheads

Michael Hawkins/Saint John Sea Dogs
SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs make their return to TD Station tonight.

While this will officially be Saint John's third home game of the pre-season, it will be their first inside their actual home. The Sea Dogs played "home" games in St. Stephen and Woodstock last week.

Tonight will see the Sea Dogs take on the Halifax Mooseheads for the first time in exhibition play. Game time is 7 p.m.

The Sea Dogs are 2-1-0-0 this pre-season and are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Rimouski Oceanic last Sunday.

Saint John's roster is now down to 24 players following reassignments earlier this week.

Radio/TV/Stream: None/None/Sea Dogs YouTube (probably?)

Pre-Season Records: Saint John is 2-1-0-0 for four points this pre-season while Halifax is 3-1-0-0 for six points.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Rimouski Oceanic in Woodstock on Sunday. Jamie Glance scored Saint John's lone goal on a penalty shot. Rafaël Courchesne allowed three goals on 10 shots while Sam Pitcher stopped all 12 shots he faced. The Mooseheads are coming off a 3-2 win over the Charlottetown Islanders on Saturday. Mateo Nobert scored twice for Halifax while Daniel Walters added a single. Carson Mertz made 37 stops in the win.

2025-26 records: The Sea Dogs finished 23-36-5-0 for 51 points (eighth Eastern/14th QMJHL) last season while the Mooseheads were 29-29-3-3 for 64 points (seventh Eastern/12th QMJHL).

2025-26 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs were 3-4-1-0 against the Mooseheads last season while Halifax went 5-3-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: March 14 at TD Station where the Mooseheads defeated the Sea Dogs 4-2. Caylen Blake, Quinn Kennedy, Shawn Carrier and Liam Kilfoil all scored for Halifax. Nolann Heroux and Alexis Joseph had Saint John goals. Nicolas Gillham-Cirka made 34 stops in the win. Rafaël Courchesne made 25 stops in the loss.

Ex-Sea Dogs on the Mooseheads: None.

Notes: Olivier Groulx and Brock Lyons each have a Saint John high three points (one goal and two assists)... no Sea Dogs player has scored more than one goal this pre-season... Jamie Calla (three goals and two assists) and Jack Cameron (one goal and four assists) each have a Halifax high five points... Calla leads the team in goals with three... Cameron has a team high four assists... Cameron is tied for the league lead in defensemen scoring... the Moose are 2-0 on the road this pre-season... looks like defenseman Brandon Delarosbil, acquired this week by the Sea Dogs, will make his Saint John debut.

Out of town:
Val-d'Or at Blainville-Boisbriand - 7:00 PM EDT
Drummondville at Sherbrooke - 7:00 PM EDT

Next game: The Sea Dogs and Mooseheads meet again in pre-season play on Friday, Sept. 11 at Dartmouth's RBC Centre.
