A solid second period propelled the Sea Dogs to a win over the expansion Phoenix last night. Stephen MacAulay had a big night, registering his second hat trick of the season. Devon Oliver-Dares also a good night offensively, recording two goals in the first period.

With a four assist performance last night, Jonathan Huberdeau continues to lead the Sea Dogs in points this season. He now has 11 goals and 16 assists in 19 games.

Saint John improved to 10-9-0-0 with last night’s win. Their 20 points place them fifth in the Telus Maritmes Division and 12th overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Sea Dogs’ attention now shifts to the Volts who sit fourth in the Telus West Division and 14th overall in the league with a 9-10-0-0 record. Drummondville, like Saint John, is 5-5-0-0 in their last 10 games.

The Volts are led by Marc-Olivier Brouillard who has seven goals and 13 assists in 19 games this season.

Both Saint John and Drummondville have similar records and neither team has a stacked lineup. Hopefully we’ll have an entertaining hockey game tonight.
