Meet The Free Agents

47 players are expected to take part in Saint John Sea Dogs training camp this week at Harbour Station.

Of those 47, 14 are considered to be free agent invites. Some of the invites have been announced previously while many others are new. Here is a closer look at the new names.

Braedyn Asselstine – Defense, 6’01”, 220 lbs
The 17-old from Kingston, Ontario registered six goals and 22 assists in 43 games with the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Gananoque Islanders last season. He was named to the EOJHL’s Rideau Division All Rookie Team. He also played a game with the OJHL’s Trenton Golden Hawks.

Adam Bateman – Defense, 5'11", 190 lbs

Braydon Blight – Defense, 6’02”, 190 lbs
The 19-year old from Clinton, Ontario was a third-round pick of the Kingston Frontenacs in the 2011 OHL Draft. He played in 78 OHL games from 2011-2013, recording a goal and four assists. Last season, Blight had nine goals and 20 assists in 47 games with the GOJHL’s St. Mary’s Lincolns.

Daniel Del Paggio – Right Wing, 5'10", 180 lbs

Michell Dempsey – Left Wing, 6'04”, 208 lbs

Drew Gross – Forward, 6'01”, 170 lbs
Shawn Hubley – Forward, 6'00", 194 lbs

Ryan Migliaccio – Left Wing, 5’09”, 180 lbs
The 18-year old Guelph native was a ninth-round pick of the Guelph Storm in the 2011 OHL Draft. He played in five games with the Storm last season but was held pointless. In 26 games with the GOJHL’s Guelph Hurricanes, the winger registered 10 goals and 16 assists.

Reid Murphy – Left Wing, 6’02”, 185 lbs
The 17-year old Sittsville, Ontario native registered four goals and five assists in 31 CCHL games with the Pembroke Lumber Kings last season.

Jared Ostroski – Defense, 6’00”, 172 lbs
The 17-year old Moncton native had two goals and eight assists in 35 games with the NB/PEI Major Midget Hockey League’s Moncton Flyers last year. He added an assist in 11 playoff games. Ostroski was also a seventh-round pick of the Miramichi Timberwolves in this year’s MHL Draft.

Stefano Pezzetta – Left Wing, 5’11”, 174 lbs
The 19-year old Markham native was a 12th-round pick of the Owen Sound Attack in the 2011 OHL Draft. He has played in 29 career OHL games – including two last season – where he registered two goals and an assist. He was released by the Attack in October of 2013. In 25 contests with the OJHL’s St. Michael’s Buzzers last season, Pezzetta registered six goals and seven assists.

Jack Van Boekel – Defense, 6'07", 205 lbs

Tommy Viboux – Goaltender, 6’01”, 162 lbs
The 17-year old Laval native posted a 3.87 goals against average and .880 save percentage in 24 games with the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League’s Saint-Eustache Vikings last season.
