Pre-Season Game Day 2 - at Halifax

A preview of tonight’s game between the Saint John Sea Dogs and Halifax Mooseheads…

When and where: Tonight at 7:00 p.m., Dartmouth Sportsplex

Records: The Sea Dogs are 1-0-0-0 in QMJHL pre-season play while the Mooseheads have yet to play.

Last games: The Sea Dogs are coming off a 7-2 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles last night. Nathan Noel and Juraj Siska scored twice while singles came from Stefano Pezzetta, Julien Tessier, and Samuel Dove-McFalls.

2013-14 head-to-head: The Sea Dogs went 1-7-0-0 against the Mooseheads last season while Halifax went 7-1-0-0 against Saint John.

Last meeting: March 14 in Halifax when the Mooseheads hammered the Sea Dogs 7-2. Jurij Repe and Nicolas Hebert each scored for Saint John. Sebastien Auger made 35 saves in the loss.

SJ notes: Sheehan Kirkwood, Braydon Blight, and Mathieu Joseph were all credited with two assists last night… along with playing physically, Saint John also took part in three fights last night… Blade Mann-Dixon and Bobby Dugan split goaltending duties… should see some new faces in the Sea Dogs lineup tonight… this is the first of three pre-season road games for Saint John… the Dogs play their next three exhibition games against the Mooseheads.

HFX notes: The Mooseheads finished first in the Maritimes Division and second overall in the league last season with a 47-18-0-3 record… the Moose lost to Val-d’Or in the President Cup semi-finals… Halifax selected forward Brett Crossley from Shattuck St. Mary’s with their top pick in the draft... the Moose play in Cape Breton tomorrow afternoon.
